Emergency Cleanup & Restoration Services FAQs
How long does the water damage repair process take?
It depends on the type and extent of damage and whether demolition is required. That said, for most cases, the standard dry time is 3-5 days.
However, there are things that can slow it down. These include:
- Insurance pushback
- Extensive restoration needs
If this happens, the process can take a few weeks.
Can I DIY water damage cleanup?
It's strongly discouraged. Water damage is often not visible, and anything under 40% moisture content can't be felt with your hands. Water can cause long-term damage, even if you can't see or feel it. Left unaddressed, water damage can cause:
- Bacterial growth
- Odors
- Mold
- Structural damage
Can I work with All Pro even if you're not a preferred vendor through my insurance?
Absolutely. You have a legal right to choose your water remediation team. In fact, we recommend against using your insurer's preferred vendors, who have a conflict of interest. Insurance companies want the water restoration companies in Denver that are in their back pockets to perform the work that costs the least, even if that isn't what is best for you. At All Pro, we advocate for you and make decisions based only on what's best for you and your home. We don't work for the insurance company – we work for you.
Does insurance cover flood or water damage mitigation?
It depends on your policy. Insurance often covers flooding and water damage from internal sources (like appliances, toilet backups, etc.) but not "true" flooding, which comes from outdoor sources like rivers. We'll help you understand coverage likeliness and gather the information to properly file a claim.
What should I expect during an emergency consultation?
When you call our emergency line, we can get a technician to you in 90 minutes. Once there, they'll assess the scope of the damage using high-tech equipment, then provide recommended next steps. They'll help you understand your options, including whether immediate action is necessary and if your insurance might cover the loss.
What if I can't afford the cleanup costs?
We never want you to delay restoring your home for fear of cost. We help you navigate your insurance claim, and if it's denied or you have a large deductible, we offer flexible financing options.
Will my premiums go up if I make an emergency water damage claim?
Possibly. We can't guarantee that your premiums won't go up, but it almost always makes economic sense to file a claim for major water damage. Insurance companies are raising prices across the board, so your premium could go up regardless of whether you file a claim or not.
Do you do water damage restoration for Denver area properties that are rentals?
Yes, we sure do! We often do work in multi-family housing. While we can't legally interpret bylaws or insurance policies, we'll help you navigate paperwork and logistics of water damage issues that go between multiple units.
Do you provide emergency services for commercial properties?
Yes, we have extensive experience providing emergency water extraction and other emergency mitigation types to Denver area businesses.
Can I prevent water damage emergencies?
While water failures aren't completely avoidable, there are steps you can take to minimize risk: regularly have your lines snaked (every year) and jetted (every 3 years); never flush anything except toilet paper down toilets; install water detection devices for early leak detection; if your home has older cast iron or clay pipes, consider investing in a liner for your sewer line; keep your hose spigots covered during freezing temperatures; and during winter, keep vents and doors open in cooler areas of the home to prevent pipes from freezing.
